Wegmans Concerts By the Shore

For the past twenty-seven years, they’ve held Wednesday evening Wegmans Concerts By the Shore at Charlotte (pronounced without the “r” because they have some strange ways of saying things up here) Beach.  A while back when Kevin and I were dating, we rode bikes down there on a Wednesday night to hear the free concert.  I remember we slow-danced to “Unforgettable.”
My family, Kevin, and I have been to a number of functions at the beach.  When I was little, my parents used to take us to that beach to swim and play in the sand.  We also went to some of the Wednesday evening concerts, went down there for various carnivals, the Harborfest, and to watch fireworks.
Kevin usually ends up seeing a number of people he knows down there.  He knows the man who runs the sound for the concerts, because he used to work him at Whirlwind.  Tonight he ran into his sister, brother-in-law and company at the concert.
Neither of us had heard of the band playing there this evening which is called Brass Taxi.  They played quite an eclectic mix of music, everything from The Jackson 5 and Earth, Wind, and Fire to some rather rough sounding attempts at Lady Gaga and Black-Eyed Peas tunes.  I’m fairly certain Lady Gaga would not be wearing her “poker face” if she’d heard them do her song.
