21 Days of Thankfulness: My Photographic Attitude of Gratitude Project (Day 11) The Gift of Your Presence

Many friends and family gathered together to celebrate a special
someone's 70th birthday.
DAY 11: The Gift of Your Presence

Sometimes offering someone the gift of your presence looks like attending a party in their honor, being there for a special Mass or a meal.  Other times, presence means listening attentively to a person who's suffering in mind, body, and/or spirit.  It can look like a daughter holding her father's hand as he takes his last breath or a mother cheering her son on at a soccer game.  There are many ways in which we can be present to others.

These lovely ladies brightened the room and Cursillo team formation
with their smiles and enthusiasm.
A friend who lived nearby used to come and visit while I was
nannying for the three silly sisters.  As any parents or caregivers
of young children can attest.  It's nice to have other lovers of little
people to come join the fun.
Being there in person to offer encouragement and support
on the day someone you care about turns in their
application for seminary.

Showing up to be a peaceful, prayerful presence outside of an
abortion clinic, ready with information about pregnancy resources,
adoption, and post-abortion healing retreats.
