DAY 8: Good Books to Read
Those who know me know I absolutely love to read! I'm one of the people who read basically everything I was assigned in college, whether it was in English or French, and then also read a number of books for the sheer pleasure of it.
I've read so many books that it would be hard for me to name them all. Being a member of Goodreads has helped me keep better track in more recent years. Suffice it to say, I read a ton of books. There have been times when someone has asked me if I've read a book, and I have to check the book reviews and lists of books on my blog if it sounds familiar, but I'm not certain.
One of the best things about loving to read and having a blog has been that I get to be one of the first people to read a number of amazing books and/or I get a free copy of really popular books, because I agree to be part of the virtual blog tour.
I can't tell you how many free books I've had mailed to me to read in exchange for writing an honest review I then post on my blog. Part of the reason I don't have a tally of all of those books is because I usually give away the ones I like the best.
When I am inspired, encouraged, amazed, uplifted, and/or impressed by the literary quality, poetic writing, lyrical prose, powerful message, practical tips, hilarious anecdotes, heroic adventures, unwavering faith...of an author or a story, then I'm inclined to hand the book to another person passionate about good books. There are few books that I keep sitting on my shelf to collect dust after I've read them. I'd rather put the best ones I come across directly into the hands of my loved ones.
If you love to read good books and would like a recommendation or two, just comment on this post or send me an e-mail, and I'll help you find your next great read.
